The Bison Stampede – September 26, 1997
This issue covers local transitions and community developments, including the opening of the renovated Buffalo Community Middle School...
Buffalo High School's student newspaper has run under three names: The Bison, The Bison Stampede, and The Hoofprint. They are not three papers. They are one continuous student publication, and this archive is an attempt to tell that story as a single unbroken record rather than as separate collections.
That is why volume numbers here may not match the number printed on an issue's front page. The printed numbers contradict each other through the 1990s and 2000s, and the count restarted when the masthead changed. The volume shown on this site is derived from the school year and runs in one sequence across every era, advancing once for each year the paper printed an issue and standing still through the years it did not — 2002–03, and 2020–23 when the paper published online only.
Some years are missing entirely. The paper published between 1944 and 1985, but no copies from those years have surfaced yet. If you have one in a basement or a scrapbook, it belongs here — see exactly which issues we are missing.
