The Bison Stampede – February 12, 1999

It's time to don, and time to learn! Business is coming to the school. After a successful pilot program, the school store is set to open its doors to students soon. The store will offer a variety of items, including school supplies, snacks, and other essentials. Students will have the opportunity to learn about business management, including inventory control, sales, and customer service. The school store is a great way for students to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting. It also provides a convenient way for students to purchase necessary items during the school day. The school store is expected to be a great addition to the school community.

Senior Katize Heinze and Chrissy Gessel have been chosen to the 1999-2000 Rotary International exchange program. Writing an essay and two interviews, the two were among a group of traveling students studying a foreign language and building friendships. The program covers all expenses, including food. Both of them need to apply for and know how to be abroad.

"We have thought about this for a long time," they said. "We are so happy all of the things we wanted to do will be aware. We will be submerged in an unfamiliar environment, so we will make the most of it."

The students are given a choice of living in about 50 countries. Their traveling expenses, tuition, fees, food and board are fully covered by the Rotary Organization. Each student is given a choice between either Turkey or Senegal and has decided on those.

"I haven't taken any Spanish," Heinze said.

Initially, BHS has received a grant allowing the opening of a position for a police officer at the city of Buffalo as a patrol officer.

Andrewson will be working regular school hours, but he will work during school hours and extracurricular activities. He will be able to help with many of the problems students face. "I am excited to be a learning experience for me," said Andrewson.

The first thing that Andrewson is planning to do is meeting with students and parents to answer any questions about his job. It is important for him to build trust with the community.

"I am hoping that the students will be able to become comfortable talking to me," said Andrewson. "I want to be a resource for them."

Andrewson, a 1998 graduate of BHS, was hired for the position of PFO. He is a graduate of Manzanito State University, Andrewson.

Classey, was worried about how to behave in a new country and later will be able to communicate with everyone. The Rotary is a worldwide organization. There are 50 countries, which the Rotary numbers communicate with to set up all of the students that go to other countries will always have a Rotary number to call them with.

"I would strongly encourage students to try out this program. The Rotarians are able to tell the students that they are very helpful and welcoming to them."

Applications are now being taken for the 2000-2001 school year. Katize Heinze and Chrissy Gessel have applied in March 1999. Applications for the program to participate in the program, is being a growing and mainstream program that you can go to in many different ways.

I say, you may not know, but I salute you. Why resist the new although it is in the power of the world? You can shape and inspire, you can change and create. During my Winter Break, I visited BHS to walk the halls, again, as I did when I was a student of "hello," as I was, and I missed being here.

I missed walking from class to the dining hall and building a home. I missed the sound of the bells, the laughter in the halls, the morning ice on the windows. I missed being able to go into the office and lay an idea on the table and see it become a reality. I missed the feeling of being part of something bigger than myself.

As a student, I thought I knew everything. I thought I knew what the world was like and what I wanted to do with my life. But as I grew older, I realized that I didn't know anything at all. I realized that the world is much bigger and more complex than I ever imagined, and that there is so much more to learn and experience.

And so, I am back. I am back to learn, to grow, and to try again. I am back to face the challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead. I am back to find my way in this world, and to make my mark on it.

I may not know where I am going, but I know that I am on my way. And I know that I will never stop trying.

During the start of the year, the Bison Stampede will be going through some changes. Because of that, students may notice some changes. Because of our staff, we are working on an independent newspaper. Our staff writers are constantly working on stories, and we are working on making the Bison Stampede the best it can be. We want to provide our readers with news, information, and entertainment that is relevant and interesting to them. We want to be a voice for the students and a source of information for the community. We want to be a newspaper that people can rely on for accurate and unbiased news. We want to be a newspaper that people enjoy reading. We want to be a newspaper that makes a difference. We are excited to begin this new chapter and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for the Bison Stampede.

When you think of blushing red roses, rich chocolate candy or the soft whisper of "the love you" say, what comes to mind? Why Valentine's Day, of course! But is that all Valentine's Day ever was?

Despite some people's misconceptions, Valentine's Day wasn't because a winged baby in a diaper flew around shooting golden arrows at people, making them fall in love.

" Cupid began targeting people on February 14, shooting many people with arrows of love. Everyone fell in love with everybody else and started smooching," said Seymour Leeds.

Valentine's Day also wasn't started simply to give sweethearts a special day to show their love for one another. In truth, it is the season for romance theory.

" I think that Valentine's Day was started to people to show the people they love how much they care for them," said junior Kate Kothre.

Many people pattern that the word "saint" goes hand-in-hand with the holiday, which actually meant Saint Valentine. Valentine was a pagan priest living during the Roman persecution against Christians. Although not Christian himself, he was against the Roman torture.

Even though Christians was a serious crime. Valentine secretly protected believers and was then sent to prison. His stay would have been short, but he became a Christian and was sentenced to death.

Valentine thought of loves ones during his days, and they were forbidden to. He discovered a way to send them messages. Each Valentine would squeeze his arms through his window bars to reach the violets growing outside, and pierced a heart-shaped leaf and pierced it with a message "like Remember your Valentine."

Valentine would send messages by way of homing pigeons supplied by his family. When the end of his life nears, he was then clubbed to death.

The beginning of Valentine's Day is pretty far off from the sweetheart day now celebrated, but every February 14, St. Valentine, and his valentine's are brought back in the giving of love to those you care about the most. Even though his story may not known, his tradition continues.

I left to get another Super Bowl ticket, so I got to see the game with some of the girls. They made me sit in the middle, just as Zach makes a bet with them. So, the boys have plenty of chances before they can settle in for the game.

The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, and the film is filled with laugh-out-loud moments. It's a heartwarming and delightful movie that is perfect for a movie night with friends or family. Live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, O'Donnell is announced as the winner of the 41st Annual Grammy Awards.
